Don’t you just love this week between Christmas and New Year’s? I like it because things are slow.
Thanksgiving came and went. The shopping season came and went. The travelling is over. Many of us are back at home and preparing for the New Year.
While the kids are still out of school, now is the perfect time to do some reflecting, cleaning, purging, and enjoying time with your loved ones. And if you live in the Dallas area…then Prairie Lights Powered By Gexa Energy is for you!
Presented by the City of Grand Prairie and powered by Gexa Energy, Prairie Lights is the premier holiday light park of the southwest. Halfway through the drive featuring 4 million lights, you are invited to get out of your car and visit the Holiday Village for pictures with Santa, concessions, a gift shop, and free carnival rides. Don’t delay though, Prairie Lights is open through January 5 from dusk until 9 p.m. Sunday -Thursday and dusk-10 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Holidays. Admission prices are as follows per vehicle:
Cars: $20 Monday-Thursday (Non-Holidays) and $30 Weekends and Holidays
Limos: $50 Monday-Thursday (Non-Holidays) and $55 Weekends and Holidays
Shuttle Van or Bus (9-31 people): $45 Monday-Thursday (Non-Holidays) and $50 Weekends and Holidays
Commercial Bus (31 or more people): $75 Monday-Thursday (Non-Holidays) and $80 Weekend and Holidays
The fun can be found at Lynn Creek Park, located at 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway in Grand Prairie. And if you think your kids are too old to enjoy the lights, think again…
Disclaimer: In the spirit of full disclosure, I was contacted as part of a special promotion for Prairie Lights and received a complimentary admission to see the holiday lights. Rest assured though, I only recommend products and companies that I use and love and all opinions expressed in this review are my own.
