March is Women’s History Month. To celebrate the magic of all women and the variety of tasks we complete in a day, we are highlighting women from all over the world and their busy schedules. Meet Yolanda and welcome to A Day in Her Shoes.

Yolanda is a teacher, a business owner, and runs a non-profit organization. She's also a wife and a mother to two adult sons. Questions #1: How is that possible as she doesn't look a day over 30? Question #2: Does she ever sleep? Here's a day in her life...let's see!

5:00 AM     I am trying to convince myself to get out of bed to pray or go to the gym

6:00 AM     I actually get up and get ready for work. Stop at 7-Eleven for morning coffee, daily talk with my mother.

7:00 AM     Arrive at work. Morning Duty. Prepare classroom for the day, make copies, grade papers, and whatever else business I need to take care of before class starts.

8:00 AM     Class starts! Preparing wonderful minds for the future while taking the time to listen to their life moments as well.

9:00 AM    Intervention Time……………help all students in whatever help they need the most help in including Math…..my least favorite subject.

10:00 AM     Class Number 2…….hang in there Yolanda….you can make it as what I tell myself mentally!

11:00 AM     Continue class 2 and lunch time at 11:30….eating healthy for lunch is a job all by itself!

12 NOON     Starting Class 3! I did it…….it’s almost over!

1:00 PM     Teaching Science (M,T,W) or Social Studies (Th,F) depending on what day of the week it is!

2:00 PM     The students go to specials and it’s my conference time. I’m calling parents, grading papers, department meetings, meeting w/ IC and/or Principal. Meeting with other teachers, and helping with special events for our campus. I’m also making and answering a few phones for one of my businesses.

3:00 PM     Pick up students from specials and prepare them to go home for the day.

4:00 PM     I’m hoping there’s no meeting and I can go home.

5:00 PM     Working mentoring program for my non profit organization.

6:00 PM     Board meeting for my non profit organization.

7:00 PM      Still in board meeting

8:00 PM     Going home and getting something for dinner if I didn’t eat at board meeting.

9:00 PM     Winding down for the night and preparing to do it all over again for the next day. Watching a show with hubby!

10:00 PM      It’s my bedtime! Yay me!

11:00 PM     Sleep………………..hopefully!

A Note from Yolanda: I’m constantly working to make myself and the world around me better. I hold numerous leadership positions in the Masonic PHAmily, work, and my community!
