The Weekend They All Got Baptized

As a mom of three kids who are so close in age, there’s not much my kids don’t do together.  When they were little, because two of them have birthdays a week apart, we often did birthdays parties, together, and in this current season of our lives they are learning how to drive together, exploring colleges together, and this fall – all three will experience high school tgether.  Continue reading

Tell Me About Your Weekend

Another Monday means the beginning of another week and the end of another weekend. Ours was quiet, as I am learning opt for quiet as much as possible these days.

Saturday started with a early morning trip to the chiropractor. Early was 7:40 a.m. Feel free to insert expletives here. I’ll even draw a line for you. ______________________

While I’m not trying to start a debate about the wonders of modern medicine, I do want to tell you that I have always thought that the best approach to medical issues is a combined approach  between traditional and homeopathic remedies. This being said, every medical issue in my life has been combatted in a variety of ways; some traditional and some homeopathic.

It’s been our experience along the epilepsy journey that regular spinal adjustments by a chiropractor have decreased our seizure activity over time. So now we are currently seeing a chiropractor twice a week. When it was time to schedule Saturday morning’s appointment, the teenage boy popped up and told the doctor we’d take the earliest appointment. THE EARLIEST.

There’s my explanation of why anyone in their right mind (me) drove to the chiropractor’s office at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning.

After the adjustment, we hung out until church time on Sunday, and then again until an intense sugar craving forced me to go to the grocery store for emergency cookies.

And by the way, while I was at the grocery store getting my emergency cookies, I noticed one thing. The Thanksgiving cookie dough was more experience than the Christmas cookie dough. Can you guess what I bought? Tis’ the season…

It really feels like autumn in Dallas, and that’s a really good thing. I noticed that the leaves are changing colors and the fall temperatures are sticking around.  So with that, I need some great fall recipes to try. You have any you want to share?

Happy Monday!
